- When cutting slopes I maintain footing while advancing forward cutting weeds. I try not to leave a massive trail of footprints making the slope appear like a stampede of cattle had gone thru your property. If needed I use Ice climbing spikes to help prevent large boot indention's from loomy topsoil.
- Typically a multiple pass cutting approach is taken for green and or dry grasses over 18".
- Cutting as close to the ground is what I prefer for level applications and can be applied to some slopes. Depending on topsoil, history with erosion, and what type of grasses are growing in that particular area. CCCFPD and SRVFPD minimum is 3" or less.
- The use of poly line to cut all grasses and weeds. I never use a steel blade on a straight shaft trimmer. The flail mower I use does have steel pivoting tines. When tines contact a rock or ground they fold over nearly eliminating the chance of a spark. I do not use fixed blade mowers for weed abatement. Only lawns.
- I can provide the use of a track loader with a brush hog attachment for properties with very dense and heavy brush.
- I don't cut and go. When cutting, weeds are sent flying when cut. Walkways, driveways, and roadways i will use a backpack style or hand held blower to clean up as needed.
- Any cleanup of grasses that is performed I can either haul the cuttings away or place into your yard waste barrel or both.
- Properties that are more intricate due to vegetation like flowers, hedges, or lots of sprinkler heads, wood fence lines I will take the time and care to get the work done right.
- To reduce the spread of noxious weeds and plants or invasive/non-invasive weeds and plants I clean my tools between projects and/or at the end of the day.
- If your property has a lot of thistle, the timing of the cutting is crucial to reduce and then rid your property of these plants. I can help with this and without the use of chemicals. Cutting these weeds/plants prior to annual flowering is imperative for several years or more. This can be done with a brush cutter, machete, shovel, hoe, or a scythe. Cutting as close to the ground with a single cut not disturbing the plant allowing it to fall over and dry out. Followed up with a future date to cut the remaining grasses/weeds for code compliance.
- My goal is to have your property be code compliant and meet and exceed regulations. When the work is done I want the property owner, resident, or your neighbor to be able to look out the window and be happy with the work done
- I do the work. Sometimes a friend that has over ten years seasonal weed abatement experience works with me. Or myself, friend with weed abatement experience and a couple day laborers if needed.
- Respect the CCCFPD and SRVFPD for there ways. They are looking out for you and your neighbors.
